The Groundings Project was initiated to engage the artist and the church in an exploration of the deep and sometimes difficult issues of our lives and age at the vibrant juncture(s) of art, faith and culture. We want to stimulate dialog, inspiration and action among Christian artists in order to see God revealed within the world today through the church and individuals in an authentic pursuit of Christ and creative calling.
We partner up with people and organizations around the country to develop discussions and projects that help Christians involved in the arts go deeper in their thinking and their integration of their faith and work. See some specific ideas.
There are no easy answers to many of the issues we face today and often, even in the church, we have disparate and polorized opinions. The Groundings Project is not trying to convince people of any pre-concieved position. But we believe its important to be a voice in the discussion and think about how we live faithfully within the reality of today's challenges and opportunities.
We seek to be a resource and a catalyst and help you develop some of these discussions within your own spheres of influence. That might mean hooking you up with speakers, brainstorming together about funding possibilities, putting together a Groundings Project in your region to spearhead some networking, etc. Maybe it means just talking together and encouraging each other that these things are important even when we aren't sure quite how to address them at the moment.
We invite your voice, your passion and your questions. We are working on adding interactive tools to this site as we go to help the process. For now we encourage you to email us with your thoughts.
